Churches go through cycles. Even the most lively churches sometimes face downturns. This has been happening since apostolic times. In those days, leaders were given principles to follow for the revitalisation of their churches. Today we need to know and apply those same principles again.
“From Embers to a Flame” is a conference where proven church leaders draw upon their experiences of success and failure to illustrate key Biblical themes in church revitalisation. Over the last 16 years, this conference has been presented with acclaim across the United States, in Korea, Scotland, England, Kenya and Australia. Through this conference, hundreds upon hundreds of churches have been blessed as they have engaged with ten basic Biblical strategies.

Over all aspects of the conference, the average satisfaction level ran at 90%.Now, in partnership with the Ministry and Mission Committee of the Presbyterian Churches in New South Wales, and the Ministry Development Committee of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, staff from Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, are coming to Australia again to present the conference as part of their commitment to global mission.

Location and Cost
The conference is being held at Rydges Parramatta on 6-8 August, 2009.
Conference only cost: $385 which includes lunch and dinner on Thursday and Friday, lunch on Saturday, and morning and afternoon refreshments each day.
Accommodation may be arranged privately. Rydges Parramatta offer a concessional conference rate of $185 for the two nights on a per person, twin share basis.

Principal Speakers
Rev. Dr Harry L. Reeder, III, has held three pastorates since 1980. Currently the Pastor-Teacher of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, he received his Doctorate from Reformed Theological Seminary with a dissertation on the Biblical Paradigm of Church Revitalization. Dr Reeder is the author of From Embers to a Flame: how God can revitalise your church and The Leadership Dynamic: a Biblical model for raising effective leaders.
Rev. Lynn Downing is the Pastor of Church Revitalization at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He previously pastored a church in Florida for 37 years during which he helped develop churches in Asia, Europe and South America.
